News December, 2007 - Season's Greetings! To all my friends, collaborators, clanmates, & allies around the world: I wish all of you a Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, a Kickin' Kwanzaa, & a safe, prosperous, Happy New Year. Please remember our wonderful men & women in the Armed Forces, & support them in any way you can. They're risking their lives every day to keep us, & our children, safe & secure. November, 2007 - Trek Tunes popping up in unknown places Found this accidentally....it seems a TT listener made a music video of "Planet Killer"...I was surprised only because I don't even know this guy, as opposed to, say, TT vidmaker & long-time pal Elmo. You can watch the "Planet Killer" thing here. I was flattered, but I did contact the mystery man, & reminded him that, hey, an e-mail or something would be nice, y'know? ;> I also found out that there are actually Trek Tunes torrents out there. (Try to say "Trek Tunes torrents" five times, fast.) Note that I haven't seen any torrents with the newer songs in 'em, like "Agonizer" or "Tantalus"...of the three different Trek Tunes torrents I found, only one was recent enough to have "What Is Love". Again, I don't mind at all; it's not like I could sell any of this stuff anyway, right? Plus, it's nice to be the idol of, perhaps, dozens of people around the world. lolololol "Agonizer" is the latest Trek Tunes video by Jeff "Elmo" Long, good friend & Tunes contributor. Click the link above to watch "Agonizer", & click the "Dateline Jasoom" link below to check out Jeff's site & his very entertaining podcasts, exploring the many worlds of Edgar Rice Burroughs. Two Watts of Power! Yes, friends, Frank Panucci, Doctor Zontar & myself have created yet another pseudo-band for your dining & dancing pleasure. Click the link at the bottom of this page for audio/video from this new & vital force in societal deprogramming through de-evolution. Our friend Doctor Zontar has released the long-awaited results of his experiments, "The Great Beaker", in CD & video form. The good Doctor & his Fro-Bot assistant have created a soundtrack to a future that never was, & the videos drive the concept home. The Doctor's second CD, "Experiment X", continues his tradition of quality scientific rock, while kicking out the jams that await us in the future. Having finally met the good Doctor, I have become, if not his biggest fan, certainly his largest & most obnoxious. ZONTAR RULES. STEVEN RICHARDS LIVES! My old pal & collaborator has surfaced after a long hibernation, smarter & more powerful than ever! He is currently working on a sci-fi epic entitled Exodus, which he wrote & will direct. Steve has also begun an acting career, adding to his already-full dance card. He assures me he will begin work on the next SJR project when he has five free minutes. Look for something maybe next year. ;> New York City punk rockers Wreck Creation are back on the web at AudioStreet.net, where you can stream and download MP3s from this fun bunch of old bastards. Projects All our video projects are available on YouTube, & here at Stiiv.com. The ESP site has been moved to a non-evil server at esp.stiiv.com. All the songs are available for streaming & download. Frank Panucci, the Pee in ESP, is a brilliant artist, animator, musician, producer, and general all-around scary Renaissance guy. See Frank's fantastic animation on PBS' Letter TV & check out his website for amazing animation, art & mu-sick. ESP CDs are available here. Credits All songs written by Stiiv, except for "Horrible Things", written by Stiiv with Frank Pee. Stiiv - Guitars, drums, bass, synths, programming, editing, and anything else not otherwise noted. Joe Riese - Guitar solos on "Savages", "Nomad", "Acts of War", "Horrible Things", and guitar samples everywhere else. Bill Schnur - drums & drum programming on "M-5", "Brain" and "Last Sanctuary", and a big jar of hydro. UPDATE: Bill's back! Expect bigger better beats, bashed beautifully by Bill, soon! Frank Panucci - various bleeps, clicks, & blorps plus great synth solo, all on "Horrible Things". Frank's generous help, support & tutelage over the past ten years or so have, for me, been the difference between success & failure, sh*t & shinola, & money vs. no money. I can't thank this guy enough, but dammit, I'm gonna keep trying. When Frank finally gets the riches & infamy he deserves, I hope he'll give me a job as night watchman in one of his lab buildings. Tools All digital audio editing was done using Goldwave, by Chris Craig. The best editor for the money, period. Other software used in the creation of Trek Tunes: Sound Forge, ReBirth 2.0, AWEToy, ACID 4.0, AnalogX Vocoder, and Master Tracks Pro. Hardware: Gibson SG guitar, Jackson "Dinky" guitar, Schecter "Revenger" 7-string guitar, Yamaha PSR-41 synth, Casio WK-1630 synth, Roland SPD-6 drum pads, Line6 POD 2.0, C-Tech PocketRockit Pro, SBLive sound card. Notes Thanks to: Joe Riese, James Ryan, the fabulous KayJay (still alive!!), all our friends at the alt.fan.devo, alt.tv.star-trek.tos, & alt.startrek newsgroups, Paul "Shock" Phillips, Chris "Goldwave" Craig, Rich Johnson, Steven Richards, Frank Panucci, Jeff Long, Ethan Winer, Karen M., Julia Houston at About.com, Laura Goodwin, Dark Materia, Pete Atkinson, Andy Caban, Bill Schnur, =TAO=Flessan, Waste, Nexus (still hetero!), Melarlo, all my brothers & sisters in TAO, & all the Trek Heads who visit, listen and enjoy.
